Our lovely old boy pig is over 5 we think (given to us). He has done so well and was ill last year. He was fine until yesterday then he stopped eating.

As he is old we are thinking it is best to let nature take it's course. We cuddled him yesterday and he did go in the garden. we also gave him water.

I have to work today but my dh and ds are here. We all feel it is best just to let him go and not try and give him that liquid food or take him to the vet. he also has a bad leg and constipation (dh helps him with that).

None of us want him to go to the vet as it may be traumatic for him and tbh he is old. Upsetting Sad

Aww @ your remaining piggie StarDust it sounds like she's struggling now on her own. (They can go through a very severe bereavement and just 'lose' the will to live. I think it's a testament to how much these little animals rely on their cagemates).
Take special care of your Vetran Lady especially if there's a sudden heatwave. Lots of cuddles and treats.
When I had guineas as a child, they were indoors most of the time (only went out in summer during the day) so after we lost one, the cagemate/s would still have lots of noise indoors.
Sometimes we had a year + with the lone one.

Ours used to get buried in a TreeSaverBag (very early recycled paper ) in the garden.
We noticed a lovely crop of dandelions where Snowy (old ,single minded stroppy sow) had been buried.
And our two younger sows , Free Ranging, scoffing away.

"You're eating Snowy" Shock
"Yes, and she's de-licious " Wink
