I have two guinea pigs and the older of the 2 (still only a year old) is very timid in her cage but this last week she has started sleeping and lying out in the open part, lying sprawled out and is not as timid as normal, usualy she would run and hide if someone walked past but recently she has been quite docile.
She is still eating and drinking as normal, does anybody have any similair experiances?
I dont know if she is ill or just adjusting to people, it seems a little sudden to stop being timid.
thanks in advance.

She could just be feeling braver. I have a timid boy who usually hides but from time to time will lie out in the open. Keep an eye on her just in case but she's probably just relaxing.

Are there droppings in the sleeping areas or hidey spaces ?
They will most likely take themselves off to a quiet sheltered spot at night (when they like to get on with the serious issue of Pooh Eating )

Our younger pig likes to sprawl his ample self in the middle of the Pighouse, gives him Pole Position to keep an eye on GP1 and be first to the food Grin

When we had GP2 he used to sleep in the run, completely out in the open. His brother (GP1) used to stand watch (sweet)
