Urgent! How do I know if my piggies are fighting?

They are sisters, or so we've been told! About 6 weeks old. They have gotten quite big and are great fun.

Sometimes though they go hyper and tear around the hutch, in and out of their tunnel and house.

It gets very loud and there are lots of squeals but also a low rumbling sound that sounds grumpy.

Could they be fighting?

It could just be normal asserting themselves. One of them will have to be top pig and they have to work it out. Are you positive you have 2 girls? If you're not sure it could be worth getting a second opinion.

I have two piggys as well and the low rumbly vibrating noise they make is a dominance noise and the high pitch squeeking is excitiment...my two make the squeeking noise when they hear rustling, fridge door and chopping veggies. I got mine seperatly and when I introduced them it took about 2 weeks for the rumbling to stop before they chose the top piggie.

Thanks for the replies. They seem like the best of friends today.
Is it unlikely that will hurt each other?

I know the excited squeak well. After we had them about a week they started to recognise the sound of their food bag and go crazy til I put it in their bowl.

We are really enjoying them. They have grown so much in 2 weeks. I made them a little cardboard house and they are able to climb on top of it now.

Tearing round and rumbling is entirely normal.
Google "guinea-pig noises" and it will give you recordings and meanings of all the sounds (they are noisy chatty little things)

Angry noises can be teeth chattering (like a loud ticking ) loud sharp purrs brrr

Dominence sounds like rumblestrutting is more a low continual purr.

And GP3 trying to bonk GP1 is entirely normal but unwelcome. GP1 usually gives him a snap (warning) , GP3 hasn't learned yet that he's on a hiding to nothing.
Then he'll do something cute like wash GP1 ears Grin

GP1 is Hmm
