Dd2 has just had to give away her guinea pigs due to an escalating allergic reaction to them.

She is now asking about having mice.

She was great at helping out looking after the guinea pigs and is so keen to have a pet any ideas?

Fish or reptiles?

Mice are sweet but the males stink to high heaven.
One of our females was already pg.
The little madams escaped to my bedroom one weekend when I was away (my parents house so they weren't home alone) . We caught them they'd been eating biscuits that I'd left there

Was it the fur or the hay she was allergic to?

Hi - we had the same problem as you with my very allergic son, although thankfully the guineas were rehomed in a nice insulated shed, - he was OK handling them outside, but very allergic to their fur and their hay.

In the end we invested in a bioorb and some lovely red finned tetras, which he had in his room, fed, cleaned out ( yeah, right, I did most of that!) but gave them all names and had something to love and care for. Would not advise getting anything with fur at all. Fish are fun, though thought not as cuddly!!!
