Where did my pigs go?

The night before last my husband forgot to put the guinea pigs back in their hutch and at about half four I was alerted to this fact by squealing. My husband and I leapt up and ran outside. My dh was angry with himself for leaving the hutch open but I reassured him that they are probably hiding. We searched the whole garden and could only find 1 (we have 3) the walls to my garden are 6 foot and there is no way foxes could have climbed over. The garden is very secure and there is no evidence that something caught them. So where are they? My husband thinks an owl could have grabbed them? Both of them seems unlikely. We have been out looking but not a sign. I'm so upset because they were so friendly and loving and now the one left behind won't eat (possibly scared) and I don't know what to do Sad

Oh, Red I clicked on here hoping you'd found them (or found 'evidence' (that they'd been caught by something) that though that's not the answer you want, at least you'd know for sure IYSWIM)

Unfortunately, they aren't well equipped for roughing it. Damp and cold is their enemy as well as predators Sad

Did you get any feedback from flyers?
Or tried any local Rescues? I read about guinea-pigs going into a Rescue that someone has found (usually out walking a dog, and the dog detects the guinea) in a field or park.
It would be worth phoning to see?

Unfortunately sometimes insensitive comments from family. It does make you grrr but ignore them.

Hope your Resident Pig is bearing up.
