Dwarf hamster with lump at top of leg

I'm hoping someone can give me a bit of advice as I'm not very experienced as a pet owner. One of our dwarf hamster pair (a year old) has developed a large lump where one of her legs joins her body.

She is eating, drinking and moving normally as far as I can see. A bit of net research suggests it is either a cyst or a tumour. My inclination is to do nothing for now as she doesn't seem unwell, but what do you wise people think?

Many thanks!

Vet trip now whilst its not causing her visible pain. Animals, especially little prey animals, are very adept at hiding pain and illness, by the time she's showing it I doubt there'd be much your vet could do other than euthanise her.

How is your wee hammy? Did you go to the vet?

Sadly we found a large lump on our Syrian's chest last night which was impeding his walking. He was put to sleep this morning Sad Terribly sad. I usually go and have a sneaky cuddle just before bed and of course he isn't there...
