How can I stop slugs from getting in the hutch??

I hate slugs and have tried to stop them getting in the hutch but there are trails everywhere inside. I have even put copper tape around the legs of the hutch, (which I thought they could not touch), so I don't know how they are doing it? They must be able to jump.

Have tried pellets and I find a few dead slugs but some are still getting in.

The hutch is on a patio.

What can I do?

Gross things Angry tbh slugs were the clincher that got my girls' hutch permanently moved indoors.

I don't has the answer but I have a couple of evil ideas if you are up for slug cruelty. Stand each hutch leg on a garden plant saucer filled with salt. Or attach rough grade sandpaper to the hutch legs, all the way up, no gaps, no mercy.

Good luck Smile

YY to salt.
Even if they touch it they start to dissolve.
They are horrible and apart from the slime, they carry lungworm which you don't want the Furries to catch.

Salt is the way forward
