Has anyone any experience of this breed? Also how to help baby settle in, should we leave him in peace for a while or stay close? Any advice welcome, thanks.

I've had best results with baby buns when leaving them for a day to settle in and then bringing them breakfast and sitting with them, talking gently for a bit, repeat a few times, see if it'll take food from your hand and offer its nose for a stroke.
Have you got an indoor or outdoor hutch? What are you planning to do for it's exercise? And will it have a bunny friend? They're very social.
Do not pick it up and try to cuddle it, this is not what little rabbits are for, they're much happier to come up to you for cuddles on ground level.
My white mini rex was a sweetie, she loved to be scritched on the nose and behind the ears. She was a fiend for parsley and apple and liked to boss our bunny boys around, a LOT!
