My new pigglies don't drink anything.

Hello, I adopted two sows almost three weeks ago (waves to Fortified), I'm a wee bit worried as they never go near the water bottle. I change the water every day but it never goes down.

I'm giving them veg with high water count, will that be enough. It it worth trying a bowl of water in the cage?

You can offer them a bowl HairyPotter but I know from experience with my boars they never go near the water.
They eat plenty of juicy veg/fruit.
They have a bowl changed twice daily (filtered water with a cube of ice at the moment, spoiled guineas)

GP3 (my new baby-waby) ran through the water bowl last week (silly boy)

When GP1 was indoors at night (for his bereavement / grieve time) he liked to chew at the water bottle, mainly I think to make a noise Grin

Make sure your water bottle is thoroughly cleaned, if it's at all mildewey inside it'll put them off.
But most likely they are getting enough fluid and having a fly drink when you're not looking Wink

Did you adopt Lily and Lavender (or was that another MNer)?

Thanks, will pop a bowl into the cage and see how that goes.

Yes, I'm am now the proud mum of Lily and Lavender Grin they are gorgeous. Lily makes the most ungodly racket when I try to catch her and Lavender just bolts. They are gradually coming round now though.

My two dds are delighted with them and would cuddle them found the clock if they could.

Waves back to HairyPotter Smile

My lovely boars (RIP) never drank water. I tried bottle and bowl with no luck. It was always a worry at the back of my mind when we went on holiday.

Fatimus and Naughty will only drink from a bowl. I think because that is what they were used to at the pet shop where they were kept in an enclosure with a great number of sows.

As long as Lily and Lavender have shade and plenty of wet food eg cucumber and melon they will survive. But do try a bowl.
