I posted on here just over a month ago, when our 2 year old Syrian hamster Silvestre was very poorly and subsequently died. We waited a week and got out new hamster Rodders on 9th April. I posted on here asking advice as he loved his wheel which was very noisy! Now this morning when I was tidying sons room I could here a clicky noise coming from the cage. I moved his bedding and it was him breathing - poor thing seemed to be gasping for air. I ran downstairs to phone the vets and when I came back up while I was on the phone to them, he seemed to have a fit and died.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this with their hamsters? We have had 2 Syrians prior to Rodders and they both lived until they were 2. I know it's silly, but I'm really upset at losing him so soon.
