Boys are back together(ish)

After each one of them breaking through to the other's side of the pen several times in an hour, I gave up and put them back in together (ish). I've left the divider up in the pen but have left room for them to be able to walk around it at each side, so they can still have time apart. www.mumsnet.com/68927.Ups

It's a sort of halfway house to getting them back together full-time. So far, no bloodshed, but it's early days.

How exciting Fernie, well done on coming to such an impressive arrangement, the cage looks very well organised!! I adore your scruffypig - well they are both gorgeous of course, but love the colours and the rosettes, they both look very well cared for and happy.

Is it still Peace on Earth and Googwill to All Men (well, boars)

When my boars were seperate (Winter 2011) I used to put them out together in the Pighouse by day and sort of hope for the best.
Winter 2012 they had the indoor cage with no divide and I used to hear them mithering to each other (worse at 3am, you don't know whether to let them get on with it or go and smack their little furry bottoms)

I usually pulled the duvet back from their cage and gave them a telling off.

But, thankfully, they just got on with it. Any rumpus was all talk.
I'm pretty sure the have bickering matches when I'm not there to witness it.

Love the pictures too. Your ScruffyPig has a real 'look' in his eyes. Sort of cheeky mischief look (but I bet butter wouldn't melt)

All is still calm. They are co-habiting quite nicely and apart from the odd bit of rumble-strutting at veg time, they've been good. They do retreat to their own side of the barrier quite a lot though. If all goes well, the barrier will be removed next week.

ScruffyPig is incredibly cheeky and never shuts up. We had them both out for cuddles last night. As usual SmoothPig curled up and enjoyed the attention and ScruffyPig kept wriggling around and chatting at a very loud volume.

Mine were being a bit 'odd' at breakfast time. GP1 kept following GP2 and going for his ears , then trying to climb over him from the side. (not like trying to mount him from the back)

As far as I could tell it was all noise and bluster. GP2 walked away, GP1 was chasing round after him, purring.
I told them off but I don't think they listened Little Toads.

70 - sorry to hear about your rambunctious pigs this morning. Mine are behaving like little angels to compensate . Could be Spring time madness?

Just brought them in for a cuddle -they were sulking in their respective corners in the haybox.

A farmer I knew bought a ram who had no interest in the ewes. He was such a lovely, gentle character that they kept him anyway.
