Snuggle Pads fro Guinea Pigs

Hi!

We have two guinea pigs and I am going to pick up snuggle pads today to give them a bit of extra heat in their hutch.

Silly question, but do I need one or two? I was planning to put them in the part of the hutch where they sleep. It has shavings and loads of hay and then two plastic igloos that they like to sleep under. I was going to put a snuggle pad under each igloo but wondered if just one in the sleeping compartment in general would be ok?

I don't mind at all paying for two, but just wondered what people thought. I guess two would mean they are each directly on top of one. I can't stand the thought of them being cold!!

Thanks!

I've got a SnugglePad (the round hard plastic disc) but only my GP2 likes it.
I've got Pet Hotties (square 'jelly' felling but not a gel) they don't hold the heat as long but they like one each.
And I give them a hot water bottle each in a zip-up waterproof pillowcover.

My boars don't sit together. They'll share a box of hay though!

(Hay is really insulating too. I give mine soft barley straw at the back and sides, centre stuffed with meadow hay..Their hay box is over 3' square it's made from the carcass of an old bookcase. When I pick them out of the hay, their little bellies, feet and ears are toasty! Grin

I have just one under the hay in their bedding area. I heat it twice a day- 7am & 7pm & it retains heat for those 12 hours. They are always very snuggly & toastie.
