Can you give hamster mix to gerbils?

MIL picked up a massive bag of hamster mix and some honey sticks at pets at home the other day. I'd asked for a small bag, as it seemed to have slowed down and I thought it might have been on its last legs. Predictably enough it then promptly died (5 days ago - dc still not noticed the missing cage ).

Could I give the left over food to my friend for her dc's (equally ignored) gerbils?

I should think it will be fine, they eat more or less the same diet :)

Thanks. Actually had a look at her bag of pets at home gerbil mix and it seemed identical to their hamster version so will pass it on tomorrow. We're definitely not getting another one! DC still not noticed she's missing.

We give our gerbil hamster food. I've got some hamster mix and think it looks nicer than PAH gerbil food, loads of tasty looking treats (tasty to a gerbil not me!!).
