Should we get another Hamster straight away

Hamster passed during the night, not unexpected as was old, however we have only had him for around 9 months as we got the hamster from db. Tryig to decide to get another staight away (a week or so) or wait. We are due a second dc in the new year so will probably be around 6months.

Worrying that 6 months we will get out of the habbit of caring and cleaning out etc and with a second dc it will be much harder for us to get back in the routine.

Depends on what works for you.

When my girl passed, I got Gpigs three days later. We do have another hammy too, who was bought 2 months before she went but she left a huge hole.

Mind you, we were planning on gerbils. Saw them, had a tank ready, came home with a pig .
