My little guinea is poorly, she isnt eating, breathing funny and looks really sad, the other 3 piggies are being protective of her, she was the runt of the litter where her father was her uncle (pet shops fault, not mine) I am not even sure if she would make the trip to the vet, I feel sick and anxious :(

We have the vets at 4pm, I can't get there before that as my son is off school ill and I have no transport :(

She needs to eat. Can you tempt her with anything? Grass is ideal, lettuce usually gets them going too. Failing that, make a paste with her pellets and syringe feed her.

If you google Guinea Lynx forums they have a medical board. The support there is superb.

Crossing fingers for you.

She lay down on her side at about half 10 and is peaceful, she wont eat anything or even move I think she is about to just drift off with her sister cosied into her.

AAw, Bless her and bless you too, do hope the vet is able to make her comfortable - have been there and know how awful it is to watch one of your dear pets decline like this, the others will be frantic and so will you. Guineas do go downhill very quickly and it is horrible to watch and not be able to help which you so desperately want to do. WIll be thinking of you.

She just stopped breathing in the vets hand as he was checking her over, he said she was probably ill for about a week but didnt show any signs and by the time you see shes ill its too late, there was nothing we could have done even if we had got her to the vet this morning :(

He said there didnt seem to be anything physically wrong with her that he could see or feel.

So so sad :(
