Calling all those with bunnies

im really struggling to decide here. Have two male rabbits around four months old. ( they r brothers) I'm trying to decide if I get them neutered. Anyone done it and felt they made right choice? Or have you regretted it?

They haven't been fighting as yet but as it's holidays and I'm home to watch for post operative infection etc I thought now would be a good time ???

Caffeine I'm not a bunny owner but there are loads of bunny threads on Super Furry (admittedly most of them make me glad I went down The Guinea-Pig Path. When I read that they kick, can bite, are not very huggy , but like to hop about the garden saying "Oooh aren't I luffley" )

But I'm pretty sure (but don't take this as gospel) that both sexes need neutered.
Females to reduce the risk of uterine cancer
Males to reduce the risk of aggression.

And if you have your 2 males neutered, and anything does happen (eg if one dies or they really don't get along) then it's easier to match up your neutered boy with a female. There's no risk of bunny litters but you'd still need to neuter a girl..

Have a leisurely scroll through the bunny threads. There'll be lots of links for advice.
I'm sure with most animals it's best to neuter them when they are physically old enough/fit enough to go through surgery. And hopefully before they start the hormone induced fighting in-house

I would get them neutured, they are less agressive after and do a bit less 'territory marking' they will be groggy bunnies for a couple of days after though.

I'd get them done. Our rabbit was totally unaffected by the op though - no grogginess at all

Thank you all!!! It's a toughie just wanna do what's best but I think I'm gonna do it!!! We are going away in a month and as they won't be let out in a run as much in that week I'm worried that could breed trouble with fighting if they haven't been done.
