hi i think my rabbit maybe pregnant im quite a new rabbit owner she shares her double hutch with another rabbit can someone pls tell me what i need to do if she does have babies ? thankyou x

Is the other rabbit male?
Get him neutered ASAP as he could attack the babies, and female rabbits can get pregnant again within days of giving birth.

hi well overnight we have had some new additions not sure how many as I'm been told to leave well alone ? I've sperated the hutch and other rabbit is a boy but was neutered 4 weeks ago as soon as he was mature enough to be done but obviously too late ! what do I need to do with mum/ babies ?

I don't have any experience looking after newborn rabbits, but here is some info from other sites.

On this page, scroll down and have a look under: "What care will I need to give to the babies?" and "General Care". www.rabbitrehome.org.uk/care/breedingrabbits.asp [I wouldn't blame you for not checking in the middle of the night as recommended there, but do check them frequently, first thing in the morning and last thing at night, and at times in between when you can manage.]

Don't disturb the mother too much, not too much noise or looking in at them, as they can eat their young if they are threatened. It happened to ours when we were children and had a rabbit who had young..wasn't very nice..

but yes, lots of food for mum, and warmth, especially this time of year. we used to tack an old thick blanket to the top of our hutch, to cover the grille when it was cold or wet when we kept them outside.

What are you going to do with the babies when they are grown, you will have to separate them quicker this time! You would need to start thinking about homes for them soon, rabbits are amazing house pets if you start them litter training etc young, and cover all the electric cables with hosepipe...

They will need vaccines etc, Mixi and another one I think, been a while since we had our house bunny.

So cute too, very jealous, can't wait to get DD a rabbit when she is old enough.

hi thanks for the info and advice ! what age do i need to move them away from mum ? also i dont no how many there are as they are tucked in the nest do i need to check or just leave alone i can just see the straw moving every now and then !
