Sali our iggy pig has died

We have had Sali and Mali for seven years and after watching Neighbours this afternoon, I went to check on Sali and she was dead.

She was alive and chuntering at me this morning.

We do not want to get another guinea pig so what do we do? Sali would happily have a snooze in the dog crate with the dog and she would duff up the dog when he went a bit OTT. But Mali just doesn't want to know.

Do we rehome her?

It is not a thing about her getting old and getting rid. We just want the best for her. Is a guinea pig happy being a sole guinea pig?

Advice very grateful.

We rehomed our last piggy as we didn't want him to be lonely. Luckily for us the people we got him from were willing to take him back and match him with one of theirs. All of the advice is not to have a single guinea pig. On the other hand is Mali an indoor pig who would get plenty of interaction? At 7 years, sorry to say this, Mali isn't likely to have years ahead of her, so perhaps a quite life in familiar surroundsings with lots of attention would be sufficient.
