We have had Sali and Mali for seven years and after watching Neighbours this afternoon, I went to check on Sali and she was dead.

She was alive and chuntering at me this morning.

We do not want to get another guinea pig so what do we do? Sali would happily have a snooze in the dog crate with the dog and she would duff up the dog when he went a bit OTT. But Mali just doesn't want to know.

Do we rehome her?

It is not a thing about her getting old and getting rid. We just want the best for her. Is a guinea pig happy being a sole guinea pig?

Advice very grateful.

We had same scenario, Pimple & lollipop. Poor pimple was only 3 but we think a spider may have bitten him(in Oz) , ours was young enough to find a similar aged friend, but at that age( 7 is quite a senior) I would be reluctant to do that as they are quite territorial. A younger piggy may be a bit too much as well, so I think maybe you need to up the TLC and attention with her and let her live her days with you, in the knowledge she is loved. Very sad for you all.x
