Hi

We recently bought 2 new Guinea Pigs, they are now about 4 months old.

One of them has just started being sick, clear water with a white substance in it, which dries like chalk.

Has anybody else experienced this?

Other than this she seems fine, eating and exploring as usual.

Thanks for reading.

Guinea pigs can't be sick! It sounds like wee to me!

silver73 · 01/05/2011 00:40

Could it be one gp wees on the other gp? We have four gps and the very gentle one will wee on the other gps faces if they upset her and her aim is perfect - straight in the face.

Sounds like wee to me as well, guinea pigs physically can't be sick, that's why you have to watch for certain stomach problems

tazmosis · 01/05/2011 17:32

It was the first time I had seen the chalky substance in their wee - is that normal do you know? - and it was because of that I took the kids at face value and thought it was vomit.

didn't realise they couldn't be sick...

Thanks for the replies though, much appreciated and I am less worried!

It did seem as though it was happening when they were huddled together so maybe one of them is weeing on the others.
