Does ‘Coke jaw’ always mean movement of the jaw?

Weird question I know. I visited someone who has a history of crack cocaine use and who swears they’re not using, even though they admitted to a relapse last summer.
She looked really strange and I realised it was because I could see her bottom teeth and her jaw was jutted out. There was no grinding. Usually you can only see her top teeth when she’s talking.
Does This sound like coke jaw to you?

It could be if her mouth doesn't usually look that way. Look at the eyes. A crack user will have very large pupils if they've just used. Though it wears off quite quickly. Did she keep going 'to the loo'? Any unusual aromas?

Thanks, I only dropped off her children,so didn’t stay long enough to see her going off to the loo. Her eyes looked a bit red and watery. She was busying about too quite frantically. The house smelt of stale smoke too (I know they collect ash from cigarettes) and a vape on the table.

I know this is besides the point but what do you mean ‘they collect ash from cigarettes?’

When crack is smoked they lay it on a bed of ash which they collect from burned cigarettes

Sorry op but yes, sounds very much like she’s back on it. I’m an ex coke addict and knew people with plenty of various addictions. I’m clean and have been for years and years not I can spot users a mile away. Everything you say would ring bells for me. The biggest one being they are collecting ash. Why do that if you aren’t using? Add in red streaming eyes, jaw tension/jutting and a flurry of activity and you pretty much have a full house.

Thank you, I don’t know she’s collecting ash, I meant “they” as crack users in general. The house just smelt of smoke, but maybe a bit stale.

It does sound as though she could be using again. Have you done anything about it like calling NSPCC for advice?
