I started taking over the counter pain killers such as co-codamol and Nurofen plus that both contain codeine, I took them for head aches but since my dad passed away I gradually took more I’m now addicted and take around 20 tablets before bed just so I can sleep I don’t take them in the day only night time when I don’t take them I can’t sleep I’m sweating all night wake up with migraines, how do i stop using them and be able to sleep without depending on tablets?

Please speak to your GP, they can help with this and they will have seen it all before. There is no shame. And they can prescribe something to help you sleep while you cycle off the painkillers. Please seek help, you deserve it.

Wean yourself off and then try something else for sleep. It’s hard I know. But start today x

It's hard at first but please try and gradually reduce. Even just by one tablet every few days. Have you thought about seeking counselling?

If you are taking that many cocodamol you will be damaging your body. They contain paracetamol and you are not supposed to take more than 4 doses in 24 hours.,please go and see your GP
