Is it bad that I smoke a spliff when my kids have gone to sleep at night? Every night. It seems to be the only thing I look forward to at the end of my days to chill out

If you couldn't even have a day off then yes it is bad. Being dependent on cannabis isn't great. How long have you been doing that?

I can go days without it, I used to smoke it everyday before I had kids, probably twice a day from what I remember. But I started again 2 weeks ago just one at night, it relaxes me which I like because I'm 247 stressed out but I don't want this to become a addiction

Can you try and treat it like alcohol, ie not something you’d have every day as you wouldn’t want a hangover/other health disincentives & just have it as a treat a few times a week? Say Wednesday to break the week up & Friday/Saturday. Then you can look forward to it & it’s not so habitual.

I don’t think cannabis in moderation is intrinsically bad at all; & it causes less health problems than alcohol as a relaxant, but psychological dependence on anything is not helpful to mental health.

You say you’re stressed 24/7 — can you try and tackle the causes of that? Even if they’re out of your control you can control your own response to stress, and in healthier ways. Some time on a calm app or meditation app or a short yoga routine if that’s your thing. Or just breathing slowly, maybe sitting outside if you can having a cup of tea.

You need to knock it down to at least once a month, if you don't want that shit taking over your life in the next six months. Trust me, I know. Problem with most weed addicts ( myself included - recovering ) is that it rules you way before you realize u have been able to stop ruling it...go careful, or quit. Every night isn't being careful

hey there!

i smoke usually every evening, and i’ve stopped before due to it making me quite lazy! the only thing i can recommend is getting a hobby to do with your hands, like a craft to keep you busy. i noticed it was the boredom that made me crave and the routine of rolling the spliff etc so doing stuff with hands is good for that too.

also note if you roll with tobacco you could be addicted to nicotine! a cigarette in the evening instead of a spliff is a good start :)

good luck. 🩷
