after being addicted to codeine for almost 4 years I took the plunge and went to rehab. Iv been started on buponorphine. This girl will never take another codeine for aslong as she lives and I will be a better person and mum. They said to me it’s not going to be easy, but it will be worth it. And that is so true

Shoot4theMoon · 23/04/2023 10:23

What is NA? I’m on day if I’m on 14mg buponorphine once per day I feel absolutely amazing like a new person

Narcotics Anonymous. You will get plenty of help and support there.

I know this is a really old post, but for anyone searching for info on Buprenorphine, here is a little bit of info -

These feelings are not unusual after being transferred to Buprenorphine- Someone I know came off full agonist opioids and went onto Buprenorphine said they were warned that some people get really bad dysphoria around day 10 - the person I know felt so bad that they were going to transfer back to physeptone as they felt so rough.

However- they managed to tough out the early days wobble , and stuck with Buprenorphine.

Be warned - Buprenorphine is just as hard to get off - the person I know is still on Buprenorphine because of this.

They reduced it down to 8 milligrams over 2 yrs from 16 mg but seem stuck at 8 mgs. 😐

Your courage to break free from codeine addiction and seek help at rehab is truly commendable. I can only imagine how challenging this journey must be, but seeing your determination shines through is incredible. Embracing buprenorphine as a substitute is a significant step towards reclaiming your life and becoming the best version of yourself. Every small victory counts, and with each day, you're moving closer to a brighter future.
