Does anyone know - if I go to the GP for help with giving up coke, and I have young children, will social services become involved?

They might but its best for you and your children that you get the support you need, who looks after the children now when youre on drugs.

No they won't. Only if you get referee to social

Referred **

If your cocaine use impacts the children, possibly, but it's not automatic that they would refer you. That shouldn't stop you getting help.

I do think so as it’s an illegal drug and I imagine if your addicted then your taking it often which means around your kids and it’s having an impact on how you look after your kids?

This was a few weeks ago so I hope you did go to your GP.

Nobody is able to give a definitive answer regarding what would happen with SS. I would say though that even if they do become involved they would do so to support you through this, not to judge or make your life more difficult. Please don't fear SS.

I have SS involved as I binge drink , not every night as I work some evenings. have been told to get therapy for underlying issues or the matter will escalate to managment level and my OH will be investigated too and he works for the local government so cant have that on his record
They are somewhat supportive but it's very much do XYZ without a say so but if that what keeps them off my case so be it
