What drugs require plunger style syringe, I.e. no needle?

Need help to identify what drugs might be used with this implement. It looks like the kind of syringe used on IV lines, there was no needle at the end just a scrap of tissue paper.

The residue was a dark brown, soy sauce type colour.

Many thanks

Its a way to measure the correct amount of dose for the oil

Sparrowsinthehedge · 28/03/2020 21:57

I use 5ml syringes for oramorph so I don't need to take a bottle out. I've seen the large ones used to flush out peg tubes which go directly into the stomach.

I bought some CBD oil online (legally) and it came in a syringe like you use to give calpol to little ones.

SeperatedSwans · 28/03/2020 21:59

I can assure you even the cast of trainspotting would struggle to survive the amount of heroine that would be in that syringe of it were to be used for that purpose.

Using it for oil for a vape, such as mixing CBD oil in sounds plausible. But....they shouldn't be adding CBD oil to ordinary vape. They should purchase CBD vape oil. People have become unwell mixing because CBD oil in its pure form isn't designed to be vaporised and can cause lung issues.

The other option is cooking crack, but the smell of reducing cocaine to crack is hideous, smells like a chemistry lab filled with farts.

Well perspective is everything.
How many mls are indicated on the syringe?

‘Oil’. Well I’ve used syringes to put olive oil in family (& pets) ears to soften Wax.
Who’s is it & why do you suspect drugs is the question?

AlexaAmbidextra · 28/03/2020 22:14

Didn't know you could do that - why would they remove the needle?

Because most syringes, unless pre-filled, come without a needle. With most, you put the needle on rather than remove it. It gives you the option of using different sized needles depending on where you’re injecting.

"even the cast of trainspotting would struggle to survive the amount of heroine that would be in that syringe"
Lol. Ok I've accepted that heroin is not the culpritGrin, releases breath that's been held for the past 48 hours

Still not sure if cannabis oil is an "escalation" of drug use for someone who is known to smoke joints (not recreationally, chain smoking dope to the exclusion of all else)

Am worried enough about the cannabis smoking that has taken over the persons life completely, this latest find made me wonder if they were step laddering to harder drugs.

I dont think its an escalation as such OP, it depends on how much THC or CBD was in the oil, but its certainly an escalation in price, from what I remember oil was about £40 a gram

TheOwlandThe · 28/03/2020 22:36

How big is it OP? How many mls

To me it looks like a regular 5ml medicine syringe. You would use it normally for putting drugs through a cannula but you can put a needle on the end and inject with it. Measure it oromorph etv

You can get bigger ones than that though and you can attach needles, I think the biggest I've seen is 50 but it is also a massive fucking needle and no one is going to use that to inject themselves.

It could literally be used for anything though, I use one with mouthwash in sometimes. What are you worried about?

CalleighDoodle · 28/03/2020 22:41

If this is your child, speak to them, do all you can to stop them using.

If this is a partner, walk away.

Mylittlepony374 · 29/03/2020 03:51

Not an escalation in my mind OP. I would have had oil long before joints as a teenager, for us it was all about what we could access.

Eldestberry · 29/03/2020 08:13

Thank you all for your knowledge, has been such a relief to rule out my worst fears.

The person in question (sibling) doesn't admit they have a problem so there's precious little anyone can do but at least we know what to talk to them about and warn against.

I've had cannabis oil a few times in the past and it tends to be very very strong -much stronger than smoking grass.
