Anyone know a good cleanser? For some reason pregnancy has sent my previously very dry skin super oily/spotty and am at a loss for what to use! I've never had oily skin before!

OneFishTwoFish · 09/07/2010 13:22

MrsC2010 - Eve Lom, Eve Lom, Eve Lom.

It is £££ but so worth it, and you can get a small pot on ebay first to try it.

Warning - you might find you have to persevere for a few weeks before getting super clear skin, but I promise it will be worth it!

susitwoshoes · 09/07/2010 13:30

Biotherm moisturiser (Perfect for my combination skin)
Clinique pore minimizer instant perfector (BEST thing I've ever used)

Ok, so I've been trying YSL Touche Eclat and I just don't get it - what does it do? What effect am I supposed to be seeing? It's all emperor's new clothes to me at the moment so I must be missing something.

purplepeony · 10/07/2010 08:28

I don't rate YSl Touche- I used to buy it for ages then read it is a highlighter not a concealer- it's the kind of thing to use for nose to mouth creases. As an under eye concealer I found it too pinky and too pale ( and I am very pale.)
I much prefer Bobbi Brown concealer now.

SloanyPony · 11/07/2010 08:46

Dermalogica Essential Cleansing Solution
Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream
Bare Minerals foundation
Perspirex anti perspirant (you put it on at night, wash it off the next morning and it gives you several days of only needing a quick squirt of whatever and you will not sweat and you will not get BO even on the hottest, stickiest days of the year - no t-shirt sweat marks. I'm a sweaty ho)
Loreal Elnet hairspray
Aveda Damage Remedy shampoo and conditioner
Ojon hair treatment (the smokey coffee smelling one, the solid oil you put on dry hair)
Christian Dior eyeliner pencil/crayon in dark brown

Am yet to find "the" mascara

Another best buy was a Bobbi Brown eyeshadow palette which was about 5 different matt neutral shades, from bone through to concrete and then one in dark brown. I use the dark brown one to fill my eyebrows and line my lower eyelid and the boney/concretey ones on my lids. I haven't bought it again and again because I've had it 2 years and its still going but I will have to replace it one day - I haven't bought a single eyeshadow since then.

cornsilky · 11/07/2010 08:53

Elizabeth Arden 8hr cream.
touch eclat
ojon oil
beauty flash balm
vitalumiere
used to get prescriptives magic powder but they're gone
laura mercier tinted mosturiser
always get hypnose but don't think it's 'the one'

Matsikula · 11/07/2010 09:36

Sunsense factor 50 for faces. Bought this in Australia on holiday once and loved it, as it has high factor protection, plus a slight tint, so helps even out skin tone. Now they stock it here too, I spotted it in Superdrug the other day.

I also prefer the Clinique airbrush concealer to Touche Eclat - it's better for very pale skin I think, and it's cheaper.

JustAnother · 11/07/2010 21:25

Eve Lom Cleanser
Chanel Eye make up remover
Creme de la Mere moisturizer
Sanex shower get

otchayaniye · 12/07/2010 07:01

"Am yet to find "the" mascara"

I find Lancome Hypnose L'Extreme to be 'the' mascara and you've reminded me I need to buy a tube.

Lancome mascaras in general are the bee knees. Not clumpy, very lengthening and don't flake and the brushes are well designed. I've had YSL Faux Cils (good but tube dries out quickly and can flake) and Diorshow (clumpy, dried out quickly) but this stuff is great.
