Are french manicures out of date now?

Having my nails redone for holiday and a pedicure at the same time.

Not sure what to have. I usually have colour on toes and natural acrylic tips.

I used to have french for holidays but have a feeling this is a dated look now. Is it? I always think it looks nice, clean and summery.

I'm not a fan of the very white tips myself
Can you have a nice pale shade instead?
Sort of pale rose or caramel??

I hate french on toes but i like it on hands

GeekOfTheWeek · 07/07/2010 10:41

I normally have the natural, not white, tips on my hands but i do like the white on my toes. Don't really like pale colours iyswim.

Not had either for a while as i thought it was dated now.

Am hoping someone will tell me otherwise!

Are you going somewhere sunny? French goes all yellowy in the sunshine. I used to have French on my toes but now have orange or dark reddy-brown. Both make feet look more tanned.

French is "very^ dated.

Beige or mink and light minty/aqua greens are the big trends at the moment. Or canary yellwo if you have the skin tone to carry it off.

Thanks for replies.

I thought it was.

Ive got 2 beach holidays coming up, hopefully very sunny!

I have tanned skin so can carry off most colours. Not sure about yellow though! I have metallic black on at the minute which I quite like. Not very summery though.
