Where can I find the perfect leather boots?

As above really, for at least the last 3 years I have searched high and low for the perfect knee-high leather boots, to no avail!

I am looking for brown or tan, flat/flatish knee high boots, in leather not suede as I want to be able to wear them all winter and not worry about the damp. I am not a fan of too many zips or buckles or wrinkles, or anything that looks like it is trying to be something it's not...equestrian or whatever.

Just plain, simple and classic! Why can't I find them! I don't want pointed toes, either almond or round toed ideally.

Has anyone seen anything like this? Or know of anywhere good (online or real life) that I might be able to find them? I've tried the obvious places: Dune, Office, Schuh etc. I have found some that are close: here but they look perhaps a little 'distressed' for me.

I know it isn't the greatest time of year but perhaps just some alternative company suggestions would be great! I always try to look fairly smart/classic but feel like I fail miserably, so any hints would be great. I am the size of a whale at the moment (36 wks PG) so am consoling myself with trying to sort my image out for the winter!

Thanks for making your way through this!

Oh, will spend up to around £100 ish, perhaps a little more if perfect and great quality. Ideally they would have a zip so that can be worn over jeans.

Duo are good for boots, I have had a few pairs from them and always very happy. They are more than £100 though but in my opinion, not overpriced.

Duo have some nice boots and you can buy them to fit your calves. These are nice.

I think you need to find a local shop that sells unusual and nice quality boots.

My best friend (also a Mrs C!!) had some really spectacularly lovely boots and she got them in a little shop in her town. They will be nicer than the mass produced sort, often from Italy and such where the leather industry is very hot.

Finding the right style will take a little while perhaps but I do think that is the best place to start.

and scratch Office - anything I've had from there has been poor quality and when you take it back, they say 'oh it is trendy, it's supposed to look like this' I think they think I am old and stupid

I also like certain brands. Camper are fabulous but not that easy to get apart from in the USA.

My favourites are actually my proper riding boots (not pretend!) as they are so completely practical, and some Geox ones that are very comfy but I don't like the style that much.

Try looking at brands and figuring out which have the qualities you like.

I was going to say Duo too!

Oooh, thanks for all of the suggestions, there are some great ones there! I'll have a good peruse. And there was me thinking I was a good internet shopper!
