70's fancy dress ideas?

i'm going to a mate's 40th at the end of the month and (groan) its 70's fancy dress.

Would like to think outside of the box a bit, and not just don flares and wig the same as everyone else. Was thinking of going "as" someone, or perhaps a couple as dh is going too.

Any ideas?
