Where can I get jeans with a higher waist?

I need some jeans that go a couple of inches higher then the usual to keep my spare tyre under control. Been going through my collection and all the pre-pregnancy ones are too low. I also need them to be bootcut/flare because skinny is not a good look for me (however fashionable!).

Am I the only one?
Any advice?

Debenhams do a range called 'trader', which are bootcut and higher waisted than most jeans. They are the only jeans I find comfy.

Gap - I think they are called "Gap Curvy" jeans. Keeps my spare tyre under control!!

Not your daughters jeans a.k.a. tummytuck jeans.I have the slimleg butterwash ones. They are expensive but are the most flattering pair i own.

Thanks for those.

There is a Debenhams where I live so I will look there. I was finding it hard to get a good fit in Gap jeans at one point. All my older ones fit much better than the ones they now sell. I'll give them another go though - maybe they have changed.

I'll Google the tummy tuck jeans (can you get them on the high street?). I'm not averse to spending a lot on them as I wear them almost constantly.

the cheap £12 M&S ones are higher cut. Word of warning though, the different colours come up in different sizes - I am a 12 in the light blue, but a 16 in the dark blue .

I've got some from Next. They just seem to make the tummy look bigger though!

teta · 01/07/2010 21:54

Shrinking Violet i have the M&S ones. They have nice legs but my tummy bulges over them hence i can only wear them with empire line tunics and long loose tops.I can wear normal t shirts with my tummy-tuck ones and look relatively slim.Boden jeans are meant to be better than the M&S ones [straight leg] and are in the sale now.I have just ordered the dark denim and the cropped ones.It might be worthwhile trying those Kwaker!.Also Tummy tuck ones are available on ebay for a bit less money than normal.

teta, I found a website selling the tummy tucks. Are they all the same shape? Are the different 'codes' just for colour and stitching?

I think they are all different shapes.I have the dark indigo slimleg ones so they fit into my boots - i guess thay are the same as straight leg.But i bought mine at a local shop and was able to try them on.I also bought a size smaller than my normal size ,although you can go smaller.I think maybe you should find a local stockist and try some on to get an idea what suits you before ordering online.

BHS do a good highwaisted bootcut in black and blue.

Levis do a high waisted straight leg and bootleg.
