High instep

Ds - 2.7 has a really high instep. Anyone recommend a canvas shoe for the summer - clark's ones are no good - velcro strap just isn't long enough

I had this problem with DS. You just have ti try different makes. It was a few years ago but I seem to recall that Hush Puppies were the solution. DS1 and DS2 are 20 months apart and I had to go to differnet shoe shops in different towns to find shoes to fit their very differently shaped feet! (they are now 18 and 16 and only wear trainers!)

oh I feel your pain.

I think other than going somewhere like Brantano and trying them all on you will never know.

All 3 of my children have high-insteps, but luckily so far, doodles in a G or H width have JUST been ok.

I know they arent great shoes, but I find Tesco very generous on velcro straps, may be worth trying there?!

Thanks - he has a pair of clarks sandals that are fine, but the doodles just don't fit. He hates shopping so never get that long before he gets bored and whingey

Buckle My Shoe have a fabulous range, suitable for high insteps.

Very reasonably priced to at between £15 and £22.

Much better than Clarks and machine washable.

DS has wide feet with very high insteps, and wears Ecco, Geox, or Ricosta shoes normally, His summer shoes this year are Ricosta and are really nice water resistant soft shoes with an elastic fastening
