Basically after 2 children my boobs are non existent. Although am 32c I cannot fill a bra. To put it bluntly they are like half filled water balloons. No fullness at top whatsoever. Completely flat at the top. I had ordered 3 underwire tankini tops thinking that would do the trick and they all gape at the top even if I yank the straps up at the back (v uncomfortable). This is why I hate going abroad. Am now dreading my holiday and was so looking forward to it. I hate sunbathing because of this. Hardly venture to the water. For a laugh tonite I got two socks and placed them at the underwire. This seems to help. Is there Anything out there that you can put in your bra (thinking maybe gel things) waterproof of course that you can get online. They obviously would have to stay put. Thinking embarrassing scene where gel thingys fall out in the water. Anybody know?

i too have the half filled water balloons. i find halterneck style tankinis help. i went to john lewis today and they had loads on sale

Have you tried the shaped cup ones rather than the normal underwired ones.

I had a brilliant ballet one that lasted me two years and gave me an amazing shape - I too have that half filled balloon shape but with a 34E cup. As it was a shaped one it meant that it gave the appearance of having a fuller bust when underneath it was 'half full' iyswim.

I'll see if I can google and find one similar to what I had.

This is the exact bikini I had.

CerealOffender one that I ordered was a tie back one which looked ok if not a bit droopy looking but at least no gape but I had to tie it up so tight I was in danger of being hung. DrSpechemin when you say shaped cup do you mean just like a soft cup with no underwire. I don't think it creates the fullness at the top though. Am now depressed

Oh yes like a balconette type bra. That would be ideal but the thing is it needs to be a tankini (to cover tummy) omg it just gets better!

Thanks for your help. I have one of these from Next that I bought about 2 years ago in black. I haven't tried it since so am hoping it still fits. How many costumes would you need for a 2 week holiday would you say. You know the way some women wear a different one every other day all lovely coloured ones she says jealously. I have made do with the same ones for years and was sick of wearing the same thing plus they are getting old. I am getting very agitated looking at all these beautiful swimwear models with perfect boobs and now need a cigarette So I have this black one like the one you linked, a tankini black and white one from Lands End and a colored one I got today the one that ties at the neck (which will do) its the only coloured one left! Would that do me. I think I will not put myself through this again and resort to a boob lift or else no more holidays. Thanks for looking this is a good place to get advice

You sure you wouldn't try a bikini? There are lots of foam cupped ones about and they can be more flattering than a tankini imo.

I'm useless and only take one swimset - I'm not going to wear it at any point other than on holiday or in the garden.

Enjoy your holiday and try not to worry about what you're wearing - there are so many different shapes out on the beach that tbh I don't think anyone notices what you look like (that's my theory anyway)

mykiddies · 29/06/2010 21:36

I have not wore a bikini since my 1st born nearly 11 years ago. I am only 5'1 and a size 10 and my body seriously took a hammering after 2 babies at 9lb6 and 9lb2. I had 2 sections and well you know my tummy will never be the same again (lots of loose skin at belly button). I do weight training and everything 3 times a week but some things you just can't change. I know what you mean by different shapes on the beach. My husband tells me to wise up when you see some women but you know i'm very self conscious and am only aware of these imperfections re your last paragraph I will keep that in mind and try to not let it spoil my holiday.
