I like mine but I can't help but think it doesn't do much for my bodyshape - i.e. short and big bum

Plus what do you wear on your top half? Can I wear them with my converse shoes?

FolornHope · 29/06/2010 16:30

no dont think so unless uber trendy.
fitted t

bishboschone · 29/06/2010 20:33

I have both colours.I wear with a fitted vest..super comfy.

southeastastra · 29/06/2010 20:35

that was my look in 1992 not sure i want to go back there again they look a little tight too, chinos were baggier

traceybath · 29/06/2010 20:36

Haven't tried those ones but wear the others lots.

I wear as Folorn or bish say with fitted vest or tucked in white shirt for that grace kelly look - well in my head.

I wear with heeled sandals - hasbeens or similar.

cyb · 30/06/2010 20:06

at bloody last

I bought a great pair of soft cotton pale blue jean tapered trews dans GAP

in

GET THIS

SIZE 10

(waits for Su to tell me Gap sizes are notoriously HUGE)

oh adn I wore converse with my New lookers so that must make me........

cyb · 30/06/2010 20:07

I like wearing mine with a boxy cut boat neck tee shirt

those others you linked to look too tight

Tootiredforgodtyping · 30/06/2010 23:08

the fatface ones are nice too

Decorhate · 01/07/2010 07:00

Was that a UK or US size 10 cyb?!

I have been a bit sceptical about the chinos thing but saw a woman wearing a rolled up pair yesterday with a vest top & she looked great (she had a nice figure and was considerably younger than me though!)

cyb · 02/07/2010 07:19

it was a UK size 10! Hence the falling on the floor

BUT I also bought a denim skirt from White stuff

size 10

I am def NOT a size 10, never have been, but made me feel good for a bit!

Decorhate · 02/07/2010 07:22

I wish sizes were more standard - I wore a prom style dress last year for an "occasion" (not my normal style at all!) and my siblings were very green-eyed that I got it in size 10. A month later I bought a shift dress for something else and needed a 14! (and no I hadn't suddenly ballooned) I am an odd shape though so perhaps I should wear prom dresses all the time as the style suits me more !

cyb · 02/07/2010 07:24

I know...white stuff (which I normally hate) is made by fat face non? my denim skirt from them was a size 12...

SandyBits · 02/07/2010 07:25

I tried these on yesterday. I got the iumpression they would be, erm, a bit sweaty in the heat, no? I did like them though, I might see if I can find something similarish in the Zara sale. I resent paying for a plastic belt I will never wear I have just had a ruthless wardrobe clearout and my only trousers are now some skinny jeans and a pair of black linen trousers. I need somethign to wear on days liek today where it is still hot but raining too. That is a style dilemma in itself, what the hell is everyone wearign when the weather is liek this? The thought of putting on my raincoat is too depressing and sweat-inducing for words.
I got some v pretty sandals while there though, only to get home and realise the buckle on one was broken. Lesson learned- do not assume trying on one shoe will suffice if you're in a hurry.

SandyBits · 02/07/2010 07:27

O white stuff is huge. I tried on a size 8 cardi and was drowning in it Am a size 10 usually. Everywhere seems to be doing it. Even H and M which are usually v stingy in sizing

cyb · 02/07/2010 07:29

cheers SAndy

cyb · 02/07/2010 07:30

sandy the ones linked too are much more tight fitting than the more tapered ones mose of us have got, which are a really soft cotton with no naff belt. No sweaty issues

My size 10 gap ones are also very soft and cool

FolornHope · 02/07/2010 07:31

lord! i have a 14 irrc
skinster

OP posts:
cyb · 02/07/2010 07:32

yeah my new look ones are a 14

dont panic Mr mannering

I'm, not Kate Mosss yet

but not Vanesa Feltz either

SandyBits · 02/07/2010 07:32

Ooo really cyb? Are they still available or have they changed the design now? I liked the style v much, but they deffo felt like they would get sweaty, and due to the nature of the fabric, the sweat would show.
I'd love them if they were slightly different. Have I missed the boat?

cyb · 02/07/2010 07:33

nah, my mate tried them on on saturday.

her crotch was too long

arf

SandyBits · 02/07/2010 07:36

Well I'm taking back the bloody sandals later so I may see if I can hunt them down. Which colour did you go for? I tried the grey ones but actually the beige might be better for summer? I generally have an aversion to beige though...

cyb · 02/07/2010 07:37

I have grey and khaki

didnt like the beige but I know su has them

worried they would make my size 10 arse look too big

traceybath · 02/07/2010 07:39

Cyb - 2 things in a size 10 means you are a size 10 surely.

cyb · 02/07/2010 07:40

tracey I really am not

I'm more like a 13 now though on bottom half and 11 on top

wish they did clothes in a 13

FolornHope · 02/07/2010 07:46

hmm i am not sure about beige rally
shoudl have got grey
was an 80s thrwback
her crotch was too long lol
