50s hen night

Hello, please can you help me?

I have to go to a 50s hen party and I have to dress up properly as it's for a very close friend.

I am 5'8", have a curvy hourglass shape but the problem is it is a size 18. The VOH dresses on a recent thread won't go up to my size.

I've seen this Dollydagger one - does anyone know what their sizes are like in real life?

Also this Jaegar one which I reckon I could get use out of at work, do you think that might be true?

Any other suggestions would be most gratefully received.

I also need to be told what shoes to wear and c.

Sorry, I have never ordered from Dollydagger. The Jaeger dress is very cute but perhaps a bit too daytime for a hen do?

There's also Big Beautiful Barbara Brown for 50s stuff. They seem to go up to a 46" bust with a 40" waist.

Another option could be a circle skirt with a petticoat, a tight T-shirt and a neckerchief.

I think that the shoes have to be pointy-toe stilletoes or pointy kitten heels.

Thanks, the BBBB site looks great. I've also found Scene Dead via ebay but it seems they only go up to 16, shame as I really like the cherry patterned dresses.

Those fifties cherry prints are so cute and summery.

You'd look stunning in so many of those BBBB dresses - fifties fashion was a hymn to the hourglass figure. I am shorter but hourglass too - we were simply born at the wrong time

Vivien of Holloway is what you're after. Totally and absolutely to die for.

Thanks, couldn't find any VOH in my size unfortunately (bust 42 waist 36 atm).

Found some on ebay that look just like VOH but cheaper. Will report back if it is any good when it gets here.

Well the dress arrived from ebay vendor history_show and it is very nice I must say, it is silk and all swishy and that. I was glad I got the petticoat with it, it didn't have enough shape without that.
