Sorry, another what to wear to a funeral question

It's DH's grandmothers funeral this afternoon. Normally I'd wear a black suit, but I am far too hot already to even contemplate this.

I have three options that don't seem too hot - a long black and white check (very tiny check) dress, black maxi dress and shrug, or a black and dark grey knee length Boden dress. Or do I melt in a suit ?

DH just shrugged when I asked him, so I huffed and said I'd ask MN

Those all sound like perfectly reasonable options, so I'd just pick whichever you'll feel most comfortable in.

Is there a dress code? My dads was 'no black' so I wore white (mainly because I had to come back from holiday and it was white linen trousers and jacket or a bikini). Mums was more formal so I just had a dark dress with tiny flowers on it and a wrapover top. A suit is probably too formal anyway I would have thought.

The black maxi and the black & grey knee length both sound perfectly acceptable imo.

Sorry for your loss

No dress code, so will probably go with the maxi if that seems OK.

Thanks for the help - I'd hate to offend any of the extended family, some of whom I have never met (and I've been with DH for 15 years)

Maxi definitely the right choice.
