Thats it. I have seen a very beutiful jacket which could be worn over a dress(cropped black jacket-dont know how to link, and this is what it is said in the description of the jacket) but dont want the skirt or trousers but anyway they are not available either.

I wouldnt usually, but would for a cropped jacket because I wouldnt see myself wearing that as a suit anyway.

Probably, if it was a fitted dress, I dont think I would with a more flouncy dress (thats not to say it would be wrong, just not for me).

bigstripey jumper would you mind seeing the jacket called erismore from hobbs and give your opinion. It would be really helpful.

thanks .Would you buy it and wear it on top the dresses(various other coloured dresses)I am starting anew contract job for 3months but not had to wear jackets etc., before - but I dont want to spend a lot of money as well.So I thought if I buy couple of nice dresses(which I can wear if no job after this contract) and just have this jacket to go to meetings etc., Sorry I dont have anyone to advice.

I think that sounds fine. Good plan to buy things that you can wear again separately afterwards.

This jacket is also very nice (IMO) and could be worn over dresses.

What sort of job is it that you will be doing?

notanidea · 24/06/2010 19:10

In the health sector - so cant dress too revealingly IFSWIM. What jacket bigstipeytiger? the link takes to the whole page.
I hope you dont mind me asking this - what length do you think these dresses are they are a bit short on the model legs(I am 5 ft 5 and size 8-10 with little mums apron
BTW just found out that they have the dress in my size but was wondering if this is too short?

Sorry, It was the Morella jacket, but I see now that is only in stock in size 14 up, and you have said that you are an 8-10.

I do like the dress. It looks smart. The length of the dresses on the models does look a little short to me, I dont know what height they are meant to be though.

Could you get the dress and then return it if its length isnt appropriate?

Is it a hospital you will be in? if so then with the temperature of most hospitals I think it is a very good idea to have a dress on most of the time and then only put a jacket on if you need it!

NineMonths · 24/06/2010 19:42

I think you should definitely get it if you like it, it fits well and you can wear it with several outfits in your wardrobe.
Cropped jackets are really handy in the summer and autumn for over dresses and with jeans and skirts.

thanks a lot. I will buy the dress and return- great idea.I can wear thick tights if it is too short.
