summer clothes world cup

i've been noticing at the school pick up (rather affluent area) that there is a serious summer clothes world cup competition going on. Now, its been going on for a couple of weeks now with non working mums in boden ensembles, and there are the white linen trouser posse with floral tops but the creme de la creme are the wedding dress posse. No they're not wearing their own wedding dresses but the type of ultra feminine and expensive dresses you might purchase for a summer wedding. Whatever next - fascinators perhaps? i could start a trend couldn't i. Anyway i need some help where do i fit in? Any tips to navigate this summer pantomime?

Yikes... Could you rebel?

I would go for a wedding dress!

Those are their SCHOOL RUN DRESSES, obv.

Well, i have been rebelling for a couple of years now. But it is tricky. One woman was sporting a fur coat for most of the winter. Now you can't get more controversial than that!

It gets worse!! Perhaps you could channel the 80s and do a Bananarama look in denim dungarees with mad hair? I'm glad my DD's nursery isn't as smart as your school!

i like the sound of that although i have heard that if you worked a look first time round you musn't go there on the second round. It looks as if i need to create my very own look. i'm thinking GaGa/Grace Jones?
