Going to a birthday party on Saturday, black tie but at their house so not strictly formal I think.

The shoes in the pic look fab but I'd never walk in them and would feel too tall and awkward in sky-scrapers. (plus I never wear black .)

I wondered whether it needs anything at all at the neck, but my first thought re. jewellery was some sort of oversized pearl bracelet (please don't laugh).

And I thought some sort of bolero/cardi thing might be useful for the inevitable chilly stage of the evening, but don't want anything to clash with the texture of the lace if that makes sense.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

I think that a really chunky statement necklace like this with some nice stacked heels or wedges in a natural colour.

Or if you want to be a bit more bold add a flash of colour with shoes and necklace.

Yep gold summery wedges would be great. Such a nice summer look.

I bought the cream - and forgot to say that gold is also a no-no (have had my colours done).

I'm going more for the lightly fake tanned, delicate look.

I'm afraid you won't find a picture - but I know the colour's fine on me - had my colours 'done' and this is one of mine.
