Is this a terrible dress for large bust?

I adore this dress as a beach cover-up, and am hovering over the order button, but I am size 12 with a dd/E cup bra size. Honest opinions please - will it look appalling?

What will you wear under it?
I am a 12 with E cup size and couldnt wear strapless bikini/no bra so wouldnt be able to do it myself...
Lovely though

scurryfunge · 21/06/2010 13:43

On the beach I think it would look fine...it's lovely

ticktockclock · 21/06/2010 13:44

Yes I think that it would be difficult to wear with big breasts. It would just cover my nipples....don't know about you.

Do you want to be constantly fiddling with it?

piratecat · 21/06/2010 13:50

i think it depends on pertness tbh, and wether the to bit would be big enought to contain your boobs.. i love those styles with the bandeau top, but my two look like a loaf of Hovis when put in that style.

eatyourveg · 21/06/2010 13:50

horizonatal stripes and strapless - those are the usual alarm sounding words for us bigger boobed girls.

However there is no hard and fast rule, buy it, try it on and then decide how you feel in it,if you feel fab then keep it - it looks great.

Thanks all - I think that is the issue really, what to wear underneath. I could never wear a bandeau bikini(shudder), but possibly strapless bra in the evenings?
I just love it and want to convince myself that it will suit me but it probably won't. i don't want to be constantly pulling it over my bust or feeling self-conscious.
There are some lovely dresses on the seafolly site, will keep looking.

pirate cat, yes I dread that great big 'loaf of bread' look...
I want my 34c bust back!

I prefer the Marilyn tie front dress - they've styled it to look overtly sexy and almost dominatrix-style on the model but it would look cute over my navy cozzie on the beach and I'd wear white or navy capris or leggings with it in the evening.

It is lovely but it wouldn't work on me (F cup). The ruffley bit wouldn't cover my boobs properly so the bottom bit wont hang properly and will make me look PG. I need no help in looking fat.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 21/06/2010 14:25

Wrapover and fitted things probably better then.
I'm an e cup but wouldn't worry about the boob coverage as Id wear a jersey cami or vest thingy underneath, but I know what you mean about the boob shelf creating a false pg look!

thecatatemygymsuit · 21/06/2010 14:26

The Marilyn one is a bit too overtly sexy for me ( plus I don't like purple) but it would be very cute as a nightdress!
I can't stop thinking about the Capri dress so will have to buy it (and lose a stone in 3 weeks)!

I wore the primark version of this with a bikini top underneath and it looked fine on my 34F tits...

thecatatemygymsuit · 21/06/2010 21:20

oh no, there's a Primark version? Damn! Just ordered...
