Is there such a thing as a nice backpack?

I need a back pack for a weekend in London as I'll be taking the DCs on the tube etc so need to have hands free. I'm looking for something that doesn't look like I'm going on a hike, but haven't had any success so far. I think Eastpack is the closest I've come, but they're a wee bit dull.

And I don't want pink, or graffitti patterns. And I need to buy it on the internet TODAY as we leave on Friday.

Can you help me please?

Ooh, that's cute. I wonder how big it is...will it fit a few nappies, wipes etc?

Ah, no it's only 27cm high, more handbag size. Thanks though.

Oh well, goog luck in your quest...

What about an across-the-body satchel?

I'd be worried about pick-pockets on the tube with a backpack.[bumpkin emoticon]

i always go to Tk maxx for that kind of thing.
wht not a leather one?

Might be worth taking a look at kipling stuff. They do backpacks that are more 'about town' than hiking.

The kipling stuff's nice, thanks for the tip.
