Hi

Can someone help, my DD is now 14 months old and I am still carrying 1.5 stones over what I want to be. I breastfed her until she was 5 months and my body seemed to bloat up so much during that time as I had fat stores to produce the milk. I have been going to the gym 3 times a week, have been eating healthily and trying to walk everywhere but the weight is just not shifting.

Is this typical and if so why is it so notoriously difficult to lose, is it hormonal still?

Thanks you

x

Shouldn't be. You are probably eating too much or too much of the wrong things.

And whilst I dont recommend you go super low-carb, remember that the only thing your body can do with carbohydrates is burn them or store them. So if you are having the kind of diet that looks very healthy on paper from a nutrition point of view but involves cereal, bread, pasta, potatoes, baked beans etc every day then you might want to look at that.

I had the same thing after my DD - just couldn't shift the last 1st7lb. I got pregnant again and thought I'd be stuck with it forever but did Slimming WOrld online and lost most of it after having DS.

However, still couldn't lose the last half stone. I've now been using this which is free and so easy.

You just log everything you eat and the exercise you do. I found I was eating the right stuff but too much of it. I now understand how to make the most of my food - what gets me the most bang for my calorie buck - and it shows whether you're eating the right balance of the different food groups as well. And I now weight less than I did before having the children.

May be Dukan diet will work for you?

I didn't get rid of 2 stones of baby weight until my son was 3!

I do dynamic pilates twice a week and have lost a stone and a half since March-no dieting as I just love food too much.

I think exercise is the key to getting rid of weight (fairly) painlessly.

As you go to the Gym already maybe you could treat yourself to a personal training session to make sure that you have a routine that suits you.

Good luck
