Is Phase Eight a lot less frumpy than it used to be or am I just getting older and frumpier?

I think it varies - some of it is very 'respectable', and some of it is much more fun.

I do think this is luverrly:

www.phase-eight.co.uk/fcp/product/warehouse/Dresses/Twist-Front-Maxi-Dress/201027610?colour=purple

If only there was a code around.

orienteerer · 17/06/2010 20:17

I love Phase Eight

Pennies · 17/06/2010 20:23

yy - I've got that maxi dress in red and black. Didn't realise they did a purple. Might have to get that one too...

I"m sure they used to be much more mumsy in a kind of Boden / Joules kind of way.

i think tis grooving up a bit too

MayorNaze · 17/06/2010 20:26

you have to have boobs to shop in phase 8

but i got a fab roman-esque green thing in designer outlet for fraction of the price

Pinkmarshmallow · 17/06/2010 20:38

love it, but don't have any (yet)... dunno what it used to be like as i've only recently discovered it.

orienteerer · 17/06/2010 20:41

I love the fact that their trousers fit me well (I find they are, ahem, a little more generous than other makes).

NomNom · 17/06/2010 20:45

I have always thought that phase eight was for the stylish and (a bit) wealthy.

Then my mother died and I had to go through her wardrobe.

There was more phase eight in there than anything else

I won't touch it with a bargepole now.

Then again, she died two years ago, so maybe it's had a makeover

hornofplenty · 17/06/2010 20:47

Yes I think so, I have bought a few bits later and am not frumpy!

orienteerer · 17/06/2010 20:49

NomNom - admiration for your trendy (late) Mother .

teddymummy · 17/06/2010 20:55

I have that maxi dress and it is boobalicious! You do need a cleavage! I also have it in the long sleeve, knee length one they did last winter. Both very useful dresses. Thats all I have though, I do find most of the stuff very expensive. Look out for 20% off days.

GeorginaWorsley · 17/06/2010 21:17

I used to think it was a bit 'mother of the bride' but actually have had some wonderful cardigans, linen trousers, camisoles from there this season,as well as a fantastic grey and white top tha tI love.
I am 43 though

orienteerer · 17/06/2010 21:25

GeorginaW - you are young .

purplepeony · 17/06/2010 21:30

I've just bought this
www.phase-eight.co.uk/fcp/product/warehouse/Dresses/Amanda-Jersey-Dress/201022019?colour=multi

it's not really a summer dress as is double jersey ( fine) but it's a great fit and I can wear itinthe winter too with boots and cropped cardi.

I used to poo-poo Phase 8 as being a bit Country Casual but recently have been surprised at how it has got a bit more up to date.

GeorginaWorsley · 17/06/2010 21:54

Agree Purplepeony

I bought a silk camisole from there last year and a purple shrug and wore it all the time over christmas.
I think it is good for us women of a certain age,but like any shop, you need pick the look you want and accessorize accordingly.eg.
I wore Monsoon linen trousers,Topshop vest,Phase Eight grey cardigan recently,

purplepeony · 17/06/2010 22:14

GW agree

ThingOne · 17/06/2010 22:21

I'm 43 and clearly old and frumpy. I love it.

purplepeony · 18/06/2010 08:09

code Woman and Home did a code last month- might still be on their website- was for 20% and I used it.

Mumsnut · 18/06/2010 08:47

Oh the frustration! can't find it. If you logged into Phase Eight, Purple, and went to the checkout screen, might it still be there in the box?????

purplepeony · 18/06/2010 08:53

You could try searching MN voucher codes- that's where I found it about amonth ago.

Mumsnut · 18/06/2010 11:05

Was it ELV22 from Easly Living? Has expired, sadly, but thanks for the thought.
