FGS - what colour cardie do you wear with this pebble/grey/mink colour dress?!? Nothing seems to go

it's this one in 'earth' - not a brown, more a grey/mink/stone colour

It's lovely but all my cardies look weird with it and now I can't see the wood for the trees

So what colour looks best with Pebble??

Lovely dress

Difficult to tell the exact colour on screen though. Email them and ask, they will probably be only too delighted to suggest something from their range that would look perfect..!

NinjaChipmunk · 15/06/2010 09:50

what a lovely dress. if you go with cardy i would get a really slim fitting one, maybe with a bit of silver lurex thread going through it? or maybe in charcoal?
otherwise, would an artfully arranged scarf work instead? you might find better colours that way?

NinjaChipmunk · 15/06/2010 09:53

what about this?

archstanton · 15/06/2010 10:00

Lovely dress!
I have a dress that colour and wear it with a tight, shimmery silver cardi.

I struggled too and the woman in the shop said it was because we always go for a slightly darker cardi colour and here we need to go ligher and brighter to highlight the colour of the dress. I wear it with silver sandals too.

Lauriefairycake · 15/06/2010 10:00

That's a lovely cardie but i think it will cover up the cleavage (which looks pretty damn fine in the frock)

I do fancy a greyish one with some silver thread- where am I going to get one like that

I would wear a orange one that made it POP.

this on is lovely

hatwoman · 15/06/2010 10:03

as others have said it's a bit hard to tell - but would a bright pink work?

Elemental · 15/06/2010 10:23

I think turquoise would look nice - and silver as has been said.

TracyK · 15/06/2010 10:55

Are there other alternatives to a cardi? Maybe a wee linen jacket or the like?

I'd go for a very plain, floatier cardi - so that it kind of hangs away from the dress iykwim - so you can see the nice line of the dress and wee front detailing. Prob in a metallic as said before - then it would change colour as the light hits it. Coast has nice stuff at the mo.

squeaver · 15/06/2010 10:57

Agree with monkey, go for a bright bold colour - a purple or a fuschia something like that?

JohnPeelwasmyhero · 15/06/2010 11:02

I would go for a bright colour too 0 choosing one that suits your colouring, of course. Maybe a floaty one, like Tracy says.

Bobbalina · 15/06/2010 18:06

acid green or yellow

SixtyFootDoll · 15/06/2010 18:07

Lime green

animula · 15/06/2010 20:45

OK - you could wear pink, in a variety of pinks.
If you chose a dusty pink, it would look quite "French".

In Petit Bateau (French Children's range) or French Connection back in ye olde days, they'd team it with sage green, French navy, yellow-y cream, cream-y yellow (!), peach, muted orange - that sort of thing.

As to style of cardi - don't really know. It's almost too nice to be cardi'd!

animula · 15/06/2010 20:48

If you are anywhere near a Petit Bateau this in the flesh is an orange that goes beautifully with grey.

VerityBrulee · 15/06/2010 22:01

I have that dress in navy and love it so much I was thinking about getting the grey too

I would go for pale dusty pink or deeper raspberry.

GeorginaWorsley · 15/06/2010 22:03

I love that dress.
For those who have it,how long is it,can you tell me?

pointydog · 15/06/2010 22:09
