Swim style for the large of bust-post here

DarrellRivers · 14/06/2010 17:30

I am 32F-G (currently breast feeding)
Am petite (8)
Am having a nightmare with regards swimwear for my upcoming holiday.
Would prefer swimsuit have never really been a bikini wearer (prefer more leaping around and swimming etc and look better in a suit TBH)

So I thought I would start a thread with the suits that I have tried so far.
I am happy to spend up to £50 as am unlikely to have such a large bust next summer

Ballet Acapulco-too large in 34FF, good cup size and is flattering if slightly bulky, will try the 34

Ballet Casablanca in 32F, perfect fit but bandeau bust line flattened boobs in an odd fashion-tried on in Bravissimo

Triumph halterneck for your curves Found this on ebay for £12 in pink, so have bought in a 32F (good fit but not wild about it , so will do if find nothing else)

Freya red plunge suit Cups not large enough

pour moi fiji halterneck in a 14
Not enough support in the bust

this is nice

DarrellRivers · 14/06/2010 17:36

Looks like an arrow pointing to your ladybits

wuglet · 14/06/2010 17:36

and why are you trying a size 16 if you are an 8 ??

lal123 · 14/06/2010 17:37

I've tried similar M&S ones (one dotty one nad one black) - they were OK, not but not long enough in the body so would have constantly been pulling them up - my boobs seemed to be at my knees

wuglet · 14/06/2010 17:39

Ok how about this?

lal123 · 14/06/2010 17:39

I've bought (and like)this

DarrellRivers · 14/06/2010 17:39

There is no way I can fit my bust into a size 8 swimsuit
There needs to be more swimsuits where you can specify both body size and bra size
This has started happening, I have worn mostly speedos for years
Would like to look a little more glamourous though this year

I am not usually a bikini wearer either but bought this after seeing it recommended on here.

After a two week holiday, involving daily swimming and lots of water parks I would highly recommend it! I am totally won over. Am also 32F.

wuglet · 14/06/2010 17:41

you can in bravissimo ones honest!

The clothes are nice as well - so nice to have a shirt that buttons over your boobs AND fits round the waist

DarrellRivers · 14/06/2010 17:48

wuglet, have never worn shirts as they always bulge around the buttons
That would be lovely to have a short where that didn't happen
Clayhead, I would have to spend whole holiday breathing in if I wore a bikini
It would be a lot easier to buy a bikini.
I love this with the hipster shorts
Maybe I should just start doing sit ups

just marking my place here as I am always on the quest for swimwear to fit that's not really Mumsy looking. I'm 32 E/F.
Thanks folks

wuglet · 14/06/2010 18:00

Darrell you need to get yourself to a Bravissimo!
The wrap dresses are great as well - so nice to wear a dress without having to use vast quantities of tit tape to ensure the bazookas don't pop out at an inopportune moment.....

DarrellRivers · 14/06/2010 18:04

Although I am expecting a vast shrinkage when I stop BFing
I reckon I will be a very shrunken B/C cup (3rd baby)
I think I was a DD/E cup when I started all those years ago
Will be a lot easier to dress then, but I expect to look a little baggy which is a concern

These go up to an e cup??

onebadbaby · 14/06/2010 18:15

And an F- sorry.

DarrellRivers · 14/06/2010 18:29

OBB, yes , that halterneck swimsuit does a 32E which might work
I will order that when I return the Ballet Acapulco suit which is a bit 'mumsy' but feels secure

I've resorted to a tankini after finding swimsuits in a 30G were tiny around the hips (which I'm not), consequently stretched sideways and ended up too short in the body. You might not have that problem.

I was more interested in one for pool/fitness swimming but measured carefully and bought this off ebay in the right size combination.

If you ebay or google 32FF swimwear you should get stacks of choice.

Tinasan · 14/06/2010 18:51

I'm an 8 and a 30F (32FF when bf). Highly recommend Freya Supernova (on Figleaves. There's a tankini top if you're not into 2 pieces. Having tried 'em all, this one looks the best on our figure, it really hoiks them up too which is great if, like me, they're starting to dangle southwards a bit after bf

DarrellRivers · 14/06/2010 19:30

Tinasan, I agree re the Freya supernova
Gorgeous
I love it in the black and white, the tankini with the shorts looks fab
Unfortunately only 32F is in the turquoise which I reckon would suit
Am going to try that as well
tankini-supernova freya
shorts to match

I bought the navy version of this a couple of weeks ago. Very flattering - am a 34GG and usually only buy bra-size swimwear.

DarrellRivers · 14/06/2010 19:46

Thefirstlady, that also looks lovely
What size did you buy?
I might pop to Wallis tomorrow as well as give figleaves a ring
This is all very promising
I got so depressed last weekend when I just tried to find something which fitted and didn't look like a granny
Shame as I look pretty good in my clothes

CaptainHaddock · 14/06/2010 20:27

I am a 32E and waiting for pay day so I can purchase this

Tinasan · 14/06/2010 20:36

Darrell you should also give the Freya Gemini halterneck a bash - I did as I was desperate and it's much nicer than it looks online and also very flattering with the tie-side bottoms.

www.figleaves.com/uk/product.asp?product=Freya-Swim-Gemini-underwired-halter-bikini-top&product_id=F BF-AS9941&size=32f&colour=Browns

I've got the Freya in turquoise and it's a bit bright but you won't feel like a granny I promise! Good luck with the search...

DarrellRivers · 14/06/2010 21:41

Thankyou to you all
I am looking forwards to looking fab [hopeful]
Captainhaddock, that is a beautiful suit
