A very dear friend of mine is celebrating his 40th with a Rocky Horror show party soon. I , for once, am able to go (small baby who doesn't sleep well has meant social life has taken a knock). But what on earth do i wear and where can i get it?

RHPS nut here!
What kind of look do you want??
Flesh/no flesh? male or female ideas?

Beasknees · 12/06/2010 19:56

I think i might be feeling brave enough to wear a basque but then i have no ideas what else. Not overly keen on having my bum on show.

have a look here

If the cleavage isn't a problem then maybe Columbia. Hot pants/short, corset/bustier top hat and tails.

I went to see the Rocky Horror stage show last year. I, along with my 3 other mummy friends (!) went as Magenta. You need a maids's outfit (Ann Summers), stockings, black stilettos and, if you can work it, a red curly wig. Alternatively, just back comb your hair and spray until solid .

Make up: think Drag Queen. Dark, heavily made up eyes, false eyelashes a must, blood red lippy, heavy 80's-esque blusher.

Done

French maid easiest. If you're feeling bold basque, feather boer, add stripy hotpants, tophat and tails to cover up a bit. Or if not at all brave white dress, cardi and hairclip.

Beasknees · 12/06/2010 20:20

stupid question - where can i get hot pants from?

Easiest is a little white slip, be Janet.

These would work well, not cheap for fancy dress though. Topshop etc all sell hotpants, but again not cheap just for one night. I'd look at second hand shops and just cut off a pair of trousers.

brimfull · 12/06/2010 20:35

you could wear a white doctors coat if lazy

hmmSleep · 12/06/2010 20:36

Here , might look really cheap in rl though.

Beasknees · 12/06/2010 21:06

Hmmsleep those are really fancy pants. Admittedly for one night they're dear but I have a bAsque already and they're cheaper thana frock.
