People Tree

I just ordered from People tree for the first time and I'm REALLY disappointed. The quality was frankly, really shit, really thin material for the ( very inflated) price.

I've ordered from ascension before and been really pleased with the stuff from there so its clearly not an ethical clothes thing...

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Hi Tootired, I have not ordered from People Tree but did check out their range in John Lewis recently. I was very disappointed (for the same reasons as you) as their website is lovely.

Are you returning your order?

Tootiredforgodtyping · 12/06/2010 16:44

definitely. I don't think I will order from them again either

yes I've bought people tree t-shirts before and they didn't last after a few washes. I have been meaning to check out the Emma Watson designed range in store but not done so yet.

Yes, I've been really disappointed with People Tree (and like you I really like a lot of Ascension's stuff). I've tried several times, because I really want to like it, but haven't been happy with anything I've bought. The fabric isn't good enough, and the cut is appalling - things presumably only look OK on the website because they pin them on the model!

I have a few tops by People Tree and would agree that they are really poor quality. they go out of shape when washed too

I recently bought some underwear and pyjamas from this company. They looked so pretty when they arrived that I instantly ordered more matching vests, trousers, pants etc, and customer service was great. Unfortunately the clothes weren't - they shrank on the first wash, and after just a few more washes the lace is all discoloured and running and it all looks really old and tired. A proper disappointment.

This can't be true of all green/ethical suppliers, can it?!

Tried on People Tree stuff in JL. One nice thing out of 5. Everything else frumpy or cut weirdly.
