am fed up with skinnies, and my maxi dress ,the novelty is wearing thin.Would I be terribly so last century if I went and bought some new lovely understated long and lean jeans.I used to wear them last century and was rather fond of them in a comfort zone sort of way.Any thoughts please before i hit the shops.Or will I just look so last century.

I still wear them as my 'comfort' jeans too as they seem really flattering and look good with everything.

notjustapuppymum · 09/06/2010 12:51

Me too - don't care if they're last century. They are still comfy and look lovely.

darkandstormy · 09/06/2010 12:51

I think the skinny look is over though and that long legged 70s bianca jagger look is really stylish. They look great with heels and a really pretty top aswell as with plimsolls and a stripey t shirt.Dp always says i look like I've loat weight!I didn't wear for ages and when i got them out again I felt really tall!

darkandstormy · 09/06/2010 13:02

Noddy I am sold, Yes, you have reminded me,I think I used to get similar comments. However I now have a jelly belly issue, how do they sit on waist

OP posts:
noddyholder · 09/06/2010 13:11

They sit just right on me and i also am a bit muffiny!

DecorHate · 09/06/2010 13:14

Apparently bootcut is coming back! I am also a fan of L&L however I tried on mine recently (hadn't worn them for a while) and they did seem very flappy compared to the skinnies I was wearing inside boots all winter. Plus they don't fit so some serious work required!

darkandstormy · 09/06/2010 13:17

decorhate.I have a vision of my old body in Long and lean Don't know what the reality of the stone heavier body will be like

I don't really do exercise or diets so am not looking forward to the effort required!

darkandstormy · 09/06/2010 13:30

decorhate my serious exercise of all is wine glass lifting, and my most voluptuous measuremnt these days is my waistI am full of unfulfilled good intentions these days. This is why I am trying to rebuck the trend of long and lean rather than skinnies. However, must admit my legs have not got bigger just the belly and the bingo wings

Buy them - so comfy . I bought a second pair this week and they are very flattering (someone walking behind me the other day asked where my jeans were from and what style they were).

OrmRenewed · 09/06/2010 13:36

They are my favourite jeans assuming I can get the extra long ones.

doggiesayswoof · 09/06/2010 13:37

I love my long and lean - they are my fave jeans. Had a brief flirtation with skinnies but never felt quite right in them. I'm also feeling that clothes which flatter me are more important than fashion.

They can be smart too, I like wearing them with a pretty top and blazer.

Waist is good - sits quite high but not too high, and I get no muffin top effect with them

Mine are 4 or 5 years old. This is putting me in the mood for a new pair.

noddyholder · 09/06/2010 13:38

Gap do another straight one i think which are ok but can look a bit granny ish aswell. One of the mags did a jeans thing and gap straight came out as most 'mum' jeans

darkandstormy · 09/06/2010 13:38

I am swiftly off to Gap for a "rebirth" of style and comfort.
