What should I look out for? I am a size 14 5'6" small norked, broad shouldered Apple with a bit of a tum!
I don't have a special occasion , I just need some summer clothes. I would love a flattering summer dress, or two, and some nice tops to wear with cropped trousers that flatter a smaller bust and cover my tum! Budget as low as possible!

Any suggestions from recent shopping visits. I would like to give her some ideas to start with as I am pretty out of it at the moment.

cruise the website first. It's fab.

Ooh you sound like me (though I'm more of a pear... or possibly both... a pepple). Will be very intrigued to see what the personal shopper suggests for you.

Sorry I have no idea what you should look out for but everyone here seems to say a personal shopper is a really good idea so hopefully she will pick everything out for you.

Update - it was fantastic! Definatley would recommend. My adviser was an older lady and I must have tried on 30 plus dresses and tops. It was great - we just worked our way through 3 racks and I didn't need to hang anything up. We even went to the shoe department and had a look at shoes with dress. So I bought 3 - not really looking for comments as I am happy with them - just thought I would pass on my experience - I will be a regular customer now.. This is what I bought

Long enough to wear as a dress but looks great with black leggings too
Oasis Dress
Phase eight
looks much better in RL

What a fab haul!
A friend of mine has the Phase Eight Jessie dress and it is very nice indeed!

TheProvincialLady · 08/06/2010 18:49

I really like all of those, bet you look fab.

NorkilyChallenged · 08/06/2010 18:54

Thanks for reporting back. Really interesting as I would dismiss a couple of the things you linked to as not being suitable for the flat-chested, so obviously I'm wrong there.

Really like the Oasis dress so might even try it on now

Glad you were pleased. I'm contemplating doing the same to get a new dress to wear to weddings.

I used the JL personal shopper service when I went back to work. It was fantastic. I tried on loads of things that I normally wouldn't have looked twice at and ended up buying some of them. It was really useful to have someone who didn't know me or my normal style with me.

It sounds like a big success! I like the third one. How long is it?

duckyfuzz · 08/06/2010 19:10

I'm glad you enjoyed it, I have asked DH for this for my 40th birthday in the summer (will take it in the autumn though, new stock )

moondog · 09/06/2010 14:15

Great frocks!

amidaiwish · 09/06/2010 14:18

lovely! which JL did you go to?

thislittlesisterlola · 09/06/2010 14:33

What lovely dresses may have to do that once i've had the babe

Whoamireally · 10/06/2010 14:18

What a fab idea - always felt a bit wary of going as don't often have a lot of cash to flash, but I guess if you spent your money on stuff you'll actually wear that's a bonus!

Did you feel any pressure to buy stuff?

CatHerder · 10/06/2010 14:30

I've always been tempted to do this. How long did you spend there?

NotMarried · 10/06/2010 14:47

I am thinking of doing this at the end of july but cannot decided whether to go for BlueWater or Oxford Street ...does it make a difference I wonder?

Will that be too early for Autumn clothes do you think?

love the dresses, esp the jessie one
