Style and Beauty - does it count if I am asking advice for a six year old boy?!

We are going to an uber-posh wedding in a couple of weeks. All outfits sorted (phew), except DS's shoes. He will be wearing a cream linen suit, white shirt (unoriginal, I know, but he does look v cute!). However, what sort of shoes? Black seems too formal, sandals too casual. All opinions welcomed

Any views? I have googled, but it hasn't really helped

i would have put in shorts and a shirt tbh and sandals

PlumSykes · 07/06/2010 10:38

I'd do sandals. Maybe something like this

He doesn't need to be a formal as the adults, since he's only isze. If you feel you must do shoes, then brown, not black.

I like desret boots of little boys, like these

HousewifeOfOrangeCounty · 07/06/2010 10:39

Plum has made the exact same two suggestions that I was going to.

DastardlyandSmugly · 07/06/2010 10:44

DS has a beige linen suit which he wears with either baseball boots (if going smart casual) or desert boots (his are from H&M). Also like Plum's idea of Birkies.

Thanks very much - I am liking the desert boots v much - will depend on weather. Baseball boots sound funky too

I am thinking of getting my ds 5yrs something like these for a wedding that we're going to.

scurryfunge · 07/06/2010 20:45

these?

overmydeadbody · 07/06/2010 21:01

Zara do some lovely Boat Shoes that would be perfect.

overmydeadbody · 07/06/2010 21:06

like these but in brown.

That's what DS wears when he needs smart shoes.

TheManor · 07/06/2010 21:32

More ideas - excellent! I like the Ben Sherman ones but I suspect they wouldn't stay on DS's feet! Ta everyone

I like the birkenstocks plum linked to. DS1 has the next versions which cost about £10.
